The Kaamulan Festival is a Bukidnon ethnic-cultural festival that takes place from the last week of February to the first week of March. Kaamulan, from the Binukid word amul, “to gather”, is an indigenous Bukidnon term for a gathering for any purpose. It can mean a datukship ritual, a wedding ceremony, a thanksgiving festival during harvest time, a peace pact, or any number of these together. The Festival is held in Malaybalay City from the second half of February to March 10, the anniversary date of the foundation of Bukidnon as a province in 1917,d to celebrate the culture and tradition of the seven ethnic tribal groups—Bukidnon, Higaonon, Talaandig, Manobo, Matigsalug, Tigwahanon and Umayamnon—that originally inhabited the province. News Flash:

The temperature has gone down to 6 degrees Celsius from the average temperature; it’s getting colder than the usual. The cold front (that made our weather “gloomy” for more than a week) is now in the eastern part of the country. And with that, I was hoping to have a sunny weekend but then, PAG-ASA found a shallow low pressure area in the East of Southern Mindanao. It only means that it will be a rainy weekend for us (again!!). Flights are cancelled going to and from Cagayan de Oro and other parts in Northern Mindanao.

.. I miss the “sunny” Cagayan de Oro!!!

Last Sunday, it rained again and some of the barangays in the city nabahaan nasad, no electricity for three days  around the city and karon lang nagka-kuryente sa amoa. And mao ni among street.. baha nasad adtong Sunday!

…i’m wishing the “sunshiny” weather be back soon in Cagayan de Oro!

I went outside and took pictures of it. It is the brightest full moon I have ever seen in my life. .

..so many stuff to clean, so little time!

For more than ten years mi na nagpuyo sa Tambo Macasandig, that was the first time na nabaha-an mi and it was not an exciting scene to see. It was scary, I tell you. Even if the water level was just on our waist, still the thought of “flood” scared everyone. Thoughts went through my mind at that time, like the thought of; when will the water will stop from getting into the house, perhaps in a split of seconds water will get higher by an inch, what if it will rain hard and so on…

…nevertheless, we thanked God for this day, for keeping us safe and everything!

Mama’s Birthday which is New Year’s Eve , is always been a tradition for her side of the family to get together and instead of giving gifts during Christmas Eve, this is the time where we give gifts to each other.
